In modern cosmology, space is not empty; it’s a dynamic entity shaped by invisible forces like dark energy, quantum fluctuations, and fields. At the smallest scales, quantum fluctuations in a vacuum give rise to particles and energy. These fluctuations create what we perceive as space. In the Big Bang model, space itself expanded from a singularity due to unknown causes—often described as "mysterious." In traditions like Vedanta or Taoism, the “subtle elements”are precursors to the gross elements (earth, water, fire, air, and ether). Space (or "Akasha") is considered one of the five great elements and arises from the subtlest vibrations.
Consciousness or pure potential gives rise to subtle energies (like sound or vibration), which then manifest as space. Space is not just emptiness but a medium for all things to appear.
